Why Choose a Ribbed Grip Aluminum Escrima?

Why Choose a Ribbed Grip Aluminum Escrima?

No weapon exemplifies our specialized ribbed grip handles better than the Ribbed Grip Aluminum Escrima. Escrima sticks are great for practice, as well as actual combat. Because you might not realize the logic behind the ribbed grip design, today we're going to explain why we've gone to the trouble of applying this unique weapons design to the escrima stick.

We initially chose to focus on improving the escrima stick because we found that, although the natural materials often used for arnis weapons help keep the equipment lightweight, the weakness of rattan and other forms of wood means that constant use will eventually create weak points and ultimately lead to failure. Knowing that martial artists can tire of replacing their weapons, especially when they become proficient in their craft and more likely to break through their weapons, we sought to create something stronger. We thus switched to a high strength, lightweight aluminum alloy. The metal kali sticks are not solid, however, since that would be much too heavy. Remember, our desire has been to improve on traditional weapons, not simply make something different. Escrima sticks shouldn't be too heavy if you want to move quickly. Instead of solid metal escrima, we make the metal escrima hollow, but with walls thick enough to endure the abuse that comes from training and combat. At 14 ounces, the weight is even comparable to the weight of escrima made out of natural materials. We also designed the end caps on these escrima sticks to give the appearance of a seamless, solid construction.

Of course, a profoundly noticeable feature of the Ribbed Grip Aluminum Escrima is the machining that gives this metal weapon the grooved handle from which it gets its name. This grooving is specially designed to prevent slippage, not only because it will fit the grip pattern of your hand, but also because it increases the surface area of the escrima stick. When you hold this ribbed grip escrima stick in your hand, you can feel confident that your grip won't slip as you move with lightning speed during arnis practice or even in combat.

The combination of a lightweight yet durable material and the atypical ribbed gripping creates a unique weapon that we think will give you the most out of your martial arts training. On top of this, our experienced team of manufacturers makes sure each escrima stick that comes out of our United States facility matches our high standards. We inspect the metal kali sticks for defects or imperfections before we send them out.

You can see more about it in the video below. If you like what you see, you can even get a two Ribbed Grip Aluminum Alloy Escrima and practice your kali with speed, efficiency, and confidence.
