Once you flick that wrist, two sets of black steel shafts come out of the sides of the blue handle. Now you've got a staff you can use to train with. The friction-lock design keeps the extensions out until you drive each end down into a hard surface.
The blue collapsible bo staff comes in five-foot and six-foot lengths. Some people like five feet because it's more manageable. Other people like a six foot telescoping staff because of the greater reach and because they're six feet tall and want a staff roughly the same length as their height.
