"So this staff is pretty awesome, and it would be a 5-star review except it came with no kind of directions on how to use it. After fumbling around and doing some googling I figured it out. To save others the trouble: First, to join it in the middle, you have to slide down the metal ring. Put the metal nub in the socket, then release the ring. You might have to twist it a bit so that it clicks into place. To release the telescoping part on the end, make a motion like you are throwing the staff (but don't actually throw it b/c it's heavy!) - the extension should snap out and be firmly in place. Do this on each end. I prefer to do it on each section, then attach in the middle, but you do you. To get it to retract, push down HARD on the staff with the telescoping end on a hard surface like concrete or pavement. I would not do this on a wood or tile floor as it could very easily damage the floor. Happy staffing!"
