When we designed the original collapsible bo staff, our goal was to provide martial artists a convenient way to transport their bo staff to and from the dojo. If you've ever travelled to a tournament, you know how inconvenient it can be to try to carry a full-sized bo staff on a plane or in the car. Our expandable bo staff solved that problem.

After developing the expandable bo staff, we thought about how cool it would be to have a 2-piece version that could act as both a pair of batons and a martial arts staff. That's how we came up with the idea for the 2-Piece Metallic Expandable Bo Staff. This unique karate weapon utilizes a quick connect coupler that allows the user to very quickly split the bo staff into two pieces to create dual escrima sticks.

If you are wondering what the difference is between this version and the original 2-Piece Collapsible Bo Staff, this version's handles are made from a very durable aluminum that is anodized into various colors. While the handles are high-strength aluminum, the extending arms are made from a very strong steel to allow for extra durability. They are available in a variety of colors including black, red, green, blue, silver and gold as well as in two standard sizes.
