This steel expandable bo staff comes in two lengths. You can either get a 3.5 pound five foot staff that collapses down to a mere 24 inches or a 4.5 pound six foot staff that goes down to 34 inches when collapsed. In addition to a steel handle, the metal extendable bo staff also has blackened steel shafts that taper out to metal caps that give some extra bite to any attacks you might give.

"So I now own the cheapest 2 section model that screws together and now this model. The screw together model is 5 feet and this model is 5 feet but is actually 5 feet 3 inches. I know there can and will be some variance but 3 inches is actually a big difference. I am 5'9" so I do regularly use a 6 foot wooden staff too but I wouldn't want to use a 6'3" staff so I am glad I got the 5 foot staff. 1 of the ends does not stay open from spinning it open. I have to take my hand and really yank it to get it to lock open otherwise every time I spin it that 1 side partially collapses. The material and construction does seem great though so it is still capable of training but I definitely wouldn't carry it for self defense when 1 side is very temperamental about staying open or not."
