Like the name suggests, the Triple Steel Ball Bola is a throwing weapon made out of three steel balls. The chain weapon is designed to be thrown at someone's legs to trip them or at least prevent them from running very well.
All three weights are steel balls that weigh around four ounces. Two of the weights connect together with a 25.5 inch steel chain. A shorter 15.5" chain connects to the first and is adjustable in that you can remove it and decide where it connects to the first chain.
In addition to trapping people, the weights are heavy enough that you can also break bone when you throw the bolas at someone if you do it in just the right way. It takes some practice, though.
