You may practice your nunchaku techniques to improve your ability with a weapon that can strike, trap, and disarm. Or, you may train with nunchucks to build stronger coordination, faster hand speed, and upper body strength. A pair of average nunchaku have handles around 12 inches, while speedchucks tend to have shorter handles. However, this length is relatively short when compared to a sansetsukon, or three section staff. The three sticks of san setsu kons are typically around 24 inches long and are connected by chains, creating a weapon that has more range than nunchakus. Just like nunchucks, the 3-section staff can be used for disarming and striking, but can be used at long, medium, and close ranges due to its versatile form. At long ranges, the 3 section staff can act as a whip and at medium ranges, function like a flail. At short ranges, sansetsukons can serve like a pair of escrima sticks. "To be honest, I bought these for there cool factor and to hang on the wall. I thought as a weapon it would be silly.
NOPE! It is actually very efficient, and more maneuverable then I expected! This staff has more striking, blocking, and flow capabilities then I thought it would.
Going to have a lot of fun with this!!"
