Thinking of a new machete blade to slice through your problems? Or bushes? The Rugged Combat Parang has you covered. Hand-forged with an expertise that would make a Viking proud, these hefty yet functional combat knives are an excellent chopping weapon for any climate or continent.
The blade is full tang and made of 1075 high carbon steel. The back spine of the 10-inch sharpened fine edge has a hand-hammered texturing with a dark charcoal finish. This is typically done by firing the blade to a red-hot temperature and then dusting it with different mixes of sand or metal shavings. With the hammered indents giving a place for the dusted charcoal to hide, the rest of the blade is ground down and polished for the sliver shine. This leaves the parang with an aged look without the actual aging part, so the craftsmen did a stupendous job.
The handle of this combat machete is also a hand-crafted work of art. Made of smooth hardwood and then detailed with black buffalo horn, this handle is not like one you've seen before. It has the curve you need to keep it in your hand during use, but no hard edges to rub your skin raw from chopping away at foliage. There are a few decorative inlays as well as a lanyard hole through the wood and tang of the steel at the base of the handle, so you can fit and secure your own wrist strap.
Slide this full-sized Golok parang into the genuine black leather sheath that comes with it, because it was literally made for this blade. The sheath is stitched finely together and has a loop for attaching this massive knife to your belt, so you can easily carry it in between clearing the path that lay before you.
