This set of escrima will help to keep your body safe as you work on your skills.
Southeast Asia has some fast growing plants that can be used for just about anything. Rattan is a reed that weaves fibers together to create a dense material that becomes porous when dried. This leaves air pockets behind but does not compromise the interlocked fibers, making this material light and durable. Ideal for many martial arts weapons, rattan is a prime selection for your kali training sticks.
This pair of fighting sticks has the outer skin removed to leave a smooth shaft to hold onto. The sticks are also decorated with burn patterns, which actually help to harden the fibers even more, and give you markings to track your hand placements. This spotted pattern has been compared to leopard spots, or more accurately, an repeating apple halves. You'll have to pull them out of the included carrying case to show them to your mates and see what they think.
Each eskrima is 28 inches long, has a weight of roughly 8 ounces, and has a diameter of about 1 inch. These are approximate measurements, as the natural reed is not going to be uniform all the way through. Once you try these training sticks, you'll be hard pressed to change to a different material, unless you upgrade to aluminum or even LED to give your competition a leg up.
