Unscrew the spike, and you'll find an emergency whistle for alerting others to your location. The other side has a compass, and when unscrewed, reveals a fire starting stick. For transport, this walking aid comes with a camo-printed nylon pouch with a shoulder strap. It has a number of pockets for separating the metal shafts when you disconnect all of the pieces and pile it inside.
