With the push of a button, this lightning fast automatic knife will reveal the sharpened blade quicker than water evaporates in a hot climate. And with one more press, that blade is concealed back into the handle, allowing you to carry on with your job.
These out-the-front knives are called automatic due to the push button release and retraction, making them a restricted weapon in some areas. With 25 pounds of tension in the springs, it's no wonder that this 5-inch handle can produce a 3.25-inch sharpened tanto blade at break neck speeds. The pointed tip of this D2 steel blade, as well as the fine edge, are razor sharp and have venting to prevent suction during use. Half of the blade is shining steel with the other half being covered with a black oxide.
The casing for this incredibly sharp and durable knife blade is made of die cast steel and given a rubberized coating in a tan color. This does present a problem if you drop it in the sand, but you won't have to if you have it strung with a lanyard through the hole on the glass breaking stud at the base of the handle. There's also a pocket clip, and of course, the included woven nylon sheath with a secure buckle feature. Loop it onto your belt and keep on trekking.
These double action knives aren't huge and bulky just because they have internal spring mechanisms. This tan OTF knife weighs just 6.7 ounces and is full length at just over 8 inches long. Closed, it reaches about 5-inches, and these the hefty construction can be felt every time you hit the slider button to deploy or retract this blade.
